Using traditional Italian techniques with British produce, Nonna’s mouth-watering flavours include rich espresso sorbet, homegrown mint choc chip and an Eton mess concoction. We’d particularly recommend the chocolate ripple made with porter from Hackney-based Five Points Brewing Company."

"Tucked away on Notting Hill high street, Farina is a nondescript little gem for people exploring this particular neck of the woods. What to expect: The pizzas are the reason to come to Farina, in particular its use of burrata, which elevates its pizzas with a miasma of cool, gooey cheese as if it were the sour cream on a perfect tray of nachos. Special mention also to Farina’s cannolo: little pistachio-dusted horns of heaven, they’re so good that you’d leave the gun and take them too."

"Chef Mitshel Ibrahim’s Vyner Street trattoria cannily slants mainstays of Italian cuisine to create a restaurant that feels like the London Italian that it is, rather than the Venetian bacaró that inspires it but to which it isn’t really to be compared. The canalside dining room and ample terrace awaits faithfully with Roman artichokes; pillowy gnocchi fritti anointed with mortadella; carne salada paired with shimeji mushrooms alongside Parmesan; and quality rotating pastas. The tiramisù is deservedly legendary."

"Chef Mitshel Ibrahim’s Vyner Street trattoria is again a collection point and distributor hub for fresh pasta, fresh southern Italian fruit and vegetables, lots more of that low-intervention wine, pre-made negronis, and deli items, such as flour, yeast, eggs, olive oil, and some very nice tinned tomatoes. "Inspired by Venetian wine bars, this chilled-out spot is also canalside but found in Hackney. The wine list is excellent so get into the bacaro spirit and stop by for a glass and cicchetti like scarlet prawns and crostini. Staying for a plate of homemade pasta which shows off seasonal British ingredients is also highly recommended."
