2020: London’s Best Desserts
"Mamason’s Dirty Ice Cream is a Filipino ice cream parlour that does SUCH GOOD STUFF. The BEST thing to get here is the Bilog, which is a traditional Filipino milk bun, with ice cream inside, and then it’s toasted. It’s essentially a hot ice cream sandwich. Their signature ice cream flavour is the Ube (pronounced oo-bae), made with native Filipino purple yam, and it’s FREAKING GOOD people!!"
"Try something totally unique at "dirty ice cream" specialist Mamasons Dirty Ice Cream, which brings Filipino flavours and techniques to Chinatown. Don't be fooled by its name, the hygiene is top-notch at this parlour, which churns out flavours such as purple ube, milo, black buko and vegan specials guyabano and calamansi."
"Omar Shah and Florence Mae Magnaloc’s Mamasons is packaging up its range of Filipino-influenced ice creams for delivery and is open for takeaways, with ube, milo, and calamansi among the flavours. Expect bilog, the pandesal ice cream sandwich, to go quickly, with the Chinatown branch open from 12 p.m."
"You may have seen some of these massive cones floating around on Instagram, and it’s definitely one of the best desserts in London. The egg waffles made at Bubblewrap are filled with incredible gelato, and you can pack as many toppings onto your monstrous creation as you wish. Located in Chinatown, it’s one of those crazy desserts in London that you need to try once!"
"OK so every child is partial to sugary treats, but Bubblewrap is Chinatown’s must-visit destination for outrageously good confections. Within a Hong-Kong style waffle wrap hides soft matcha or chocolate ice cream, layers of sticky sauce, crushed Oreo and fresh fruit. In fact, Bubblewrap is so good, they’ll be begging you to return each week."

"Nando's is a firm favourite across the country, with delicious flame-grilled peri-peri chicken, as well as tasty vegetarian and vegan options and mouth-watering sides. As one of the most popular places to eat in Wembley Park, they’ve embraced al fresco dining and will offer table service after 12 April in their outside seating area. No reservation required."

"A post shared by Pompi (@pompi.uk) on Nov 18, 2019 at 1:44am PST. 'Il Regno del Tiramisù', it says in curlicued letters across Pompi's logo: 'King of Tiramisù'. A bit boastful, and 100% accurate."
"Fait Maison on Gloucester Road is another Instagram favourite. With beautiful floral interior and exterior displays, as well as perfectly presented afternoon tea, every detail has been manicured with Instagram in mind. In addition to their picture-perfect afternoon tea, they also offer delicious home-made Middle Eastern-inspired food."
"Murger Han is a X’ian Chinese restaurant with branches in Euston, Mayfair and the City that seriously delivers the goods, and is super cheap too. The speciality here is Biang Biang noodles. They are made fresh in house every day and hand pulled by the chef into one giant 12 foot sheet and then cut into wide, thick strands before cooking."
"This is the third Murger Han and as in its other incarnations, they'll have a menu of Xi’an dishes made to family recipes with the Biang Biang noodles and the murgers themselves (slow-cooked meat in flatbread) being the biggest draw."
"Give us diner nachos, served with spicy Jalapeño salsa and summery guacamole, and we're happy. Give us pulled pork, cooked for 16 hours with barbecue sauce and house slaw, and we're very happy. Give us Jamie's Insanity burger, and we're ecstatic."
"Another Brixton Village restaurant, Kamome is also offering a delivery via Deliveroo and Just Eat. Kamome’s Japanese menu includes plenty of sushi and noodles, plus donburi, and katsu curry. Further information can be found on the restaurant’s website."
"6 floors up from the madness of Leicester Square lies an oasis of calm in the form of the AWAY Spa at W London. The spa is all-white and minimalist, with smooth, sleep lines. A team of celebrity therapists are on hand to help you: from the signature facials by Su-Man and advanced aesthetics of Dr. Wong, expert tanning of James Harknett, to Ruthie Belle's stunning eyelashes and hair styling of Sergio Giannasso."
"This luxe Soho spa at the W Hotel on Leicester Square is the go-to place for glamour, perfectly placed for pampering ahead of a night on the town. Revitalise your body with one of their tailor-made treatments or revive your soul in their sauna and steam rooms. Book a ritual or package for a loved one, including specials for the ‘modern gentleman’ and ‘the entrepreneur’."
"This vibrant and superbly sexy London hotel and spa is an energising experience from the spa to the restaurant. Putting you in the mood to party and recover the next day, it’s a breath of fresh air in the heart of Soho."
"Until 2007, Londoners had no idea what an affordable spa was, until Spa London opened up its first spa-tique in Bethnal Green. Now there are several all over London, but the favourite must be in Swiss Cottage. Signature body treatments, facials and massages are up for grabs from as little as £30 — rare in this part of town."
"From stouts to the iconic Punk IPA, BrewDog is a church to all things hop-based. First founded in Scotland, it hasn't taken long for the craft beer temple to take over the world, with plenty of keg lines and guest ales on offer. Discover one of their London locations to see what all the fuss is about."
"The Farmer’s Boy is a family run tastefully refurbished bay-windowed pub with a passion for Live Music. We have an extensive range of Craft Beers, both on tap and in cans, with probably the best selection of cans in town."
"Unless you've had your head buried in the sand for the last couple of years, you will have noticed Goose Island's takeover of the London craft beer scene. Head to their first UK bar in Shoreditch which delivers pints fresh from the brewing room and deep-pan Chicago-style pizza to soak it all up."
