Where to find the best desserts in London in 2021
"Restaurants Ice-cream parlours Camden Town. A Filipino take on an ice-cream parlour, Mamasons peddle the kind of ‘dirty’ stuff you’ll find on the streets of Manila. The signature flavour is ‘ube’ (made with a native purple yam), but also brace yourself for salty cheese-based ‘queso’, vegan-friendly kalamansi or goth-tastic ‘black buko’ (coconut combined with activated charcoal made from the coconut shell)."
"So-called 'dirty ice-cream' is actually a term of endearment used to describe the homemade ice-cream you'll find on the streets of Manila. Expect to find quite different flavours to what you might be used to - their signature is Ube - a purple-hued ice-cream made with Filipino purple yam - but they also serve up a salty queso flavour and a vegan guyabano sorbet. Delivery: via their online shop"
"Mamason’s Dirty Ice Cream is a Filipino ice cream parlour that does SUCH GOOD STUFF. The BEST thing to get here is the Bilog, which is a traditional Filipino milk bun, with ice cream inside, and then it’s toasted. It’s essentially a hot ice cream sandwich. Their signature ice cream flavour is the Ube (pronounced oo-bae), made with native Filipino purple yam, and it’s FREAKING GOOD people!!"
"OK so every child is partial to sugary treats, but Bubblewrap is Chinatown’s must-visit destination for outrageously good confections. Within a Hong-Kong style waffle wrap hides soft matcha or chocolate ice cream, layers of sticky sauce, crushed Oreo and fresh fruit. In fact, Bubblewrap is so good, they’ll be begging you to return each week."
"Their ice cream is top class, but it’s all about their delicious bubblewrap waffle cones here. They truly enhance the experience. They make the cones fresh in house and are the perfect balance of chewy and crunchy texture to compliment the ice cream and toppings."
"Did you know these fun egg waffles were invented in Hong Kong as a way of using up un-sellable broken eggs?. Today, they’re one of the best London desserts you can wrap your lips around. When Bubblewrap launched in Soho, they caused queues around Wardour Street."
"Nando's is a firm favourite across the country, with delicious flame-grilled peri-peri chicken, as well as tasty vegetarian and vegan options and mouth-watering sides. As one of the most popular places to eat in Wembley Park, they’ve embraced al fresco dining and will offer table service after 12 April in their outside seating area. No reservation required."

"The Desert Factory is so serious about desserts, they've travelled far and wide to bring you the very best flavours and combos. Their sweet-induced menu is packed with firm favorites, rotational specials and some good cake. If you're a fan of nuts, their Ferrero Dream crepe is for you but for a fruity flavour, their Banoffee combo will leave you wanting more."

"Whether you choose to eat at Nando's Oracle Riverside or the Nando's in Friar Street, you'll be sure to find something that the little 'Nandinos' might fancy. Nandino's mains are grilled in a special PERi-tamer baste - a mild, sweet marinade that won't leave tongues tingling. Made especially for Nandinos (aged 10 and under), for just £5.55, kids can choose from one of the mains and add two sides."
"About: Whether you're seven or seventy-seven, Nando's believe that eating out should be lots of fun. The Nandinos menu is brimming with lots of options that are not only tasty, but healthy too. Children can enjoy one main, two sides and a dessert for just £5.65."
"In a nutshell: Irish celebrity chef hits London Where is it?. Buck Street Market, Camden High Street, NW1 8QP Why should you care?. Intending to shake up London's fine dining scene, Adrian Martin's new Camden restaurant, Wildflower, will serve a high end menu..."
"Fine dining in a shipping container might sound like an oxymoron, but that’s exactly the concept at Wildflower. Once you get past the setting, expect an intriguing, exciting tasting menu which focuses on foraged ingredients."
"Enjoy the theatrical open kitchen at acclaimed Indian restaurant, Amaya, in Belgravia. Tuck into a range of seafood, meat and vegetarian food at this swish venue from the team behind Chutney Mary and Veeraswamy. Although contemporary in nature, the dishes here are cooked using traditional techniques, whether in the tandoor oven, over coals or on a hot grill plate."
"The one by Postman’s ParkThe Natural Kitchen started off as a simple organic food shop but has now become one of London’s top healthy lunch venues. Hearty and healthy options leave diners spoiled for choice, and the fresh meat counter is a marvel in itself. It’s perfect for assembling your own lunch board, salad or sandwich."
"About: Enjoy a fun, relaxed dinner at Alto Lounge where 'Little Loungers' can choose dishes from the kids' menu. From morning to night Alto Lounge pretty much has every base covered - so even the fussuiest of eaters are sure to find something they like. "Alto Lounge is always ready to welcome its Littleloungers, with board games for families to play. Options include chicken lollipops, pesto pasta and sausage and chips. All mains are also served with a pot of breadsticks, crunchy carrot, cucumber and red pepper sticks."
"Where: Church Street in Caversham or Crockhamwell Road in Woodley. Full menu: thelounges.co.uk/menus/. Laura recommended the black bean burrito, saying: "Bosco Lounge in Woodley and Alto Lounge in Caversham have a separate vegan menu that you can request at the bar."
"St James’s Park might not be the biggest or the flashiest but it is the oldest of London’s eight Royal Parks and the perfect place for picnic, unless you’re afraid of the birds that is. Not only do the famous pelicans take roost on Duck Island but there’s also 17 other species of birds flapping about. But of course all that bird watching is thirsty work, so once you’ve ruffled enough feathers and erm, not taken a pic outside Buckingham Palace, get stuck into that spread."
"Named after a hospital for people suffering from leprosy, St James's is perhaps the most regal of all Royal Parks — home to both The Mall and the Horse Guards Parade, and flanked by Buckingham and St James's palaces. However, the real stars of the park have got to be Isla, Tiffany and Gargi, the three pelicans who live here. Other attractions include vibrant flower beds, two cafes, and a possibly haunted statue of Queen Anne."
"Thanks to this park’s central location, you can enjoy fab views of Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, the London Eye and Horse Guards Parade from The Blue Bridge. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife, including the park’s famous pelicans. COVID-19 UPDATE: St James’s Park is currently open, but people must respect social distancing rules."
