"Another of the best free museums in London, and one of my personal favourites, is South Kenisngton’s Science Museum, covering various aspects of science and human achievement, from the exploration of space to the invention of modern digital technologies. Spanning multiple floors, the museum has a collection of over 300,000 items, including some amazing world-famous objects such as the Apollo 10 command capsule, Helen Sharman’s spacesuit(the first Briton in Space) and Puffing Billy (world’s oldest surviving steam locomotive). There are also a number of interactive exhibits such as a 3D IMAX cinema showing science and nature documentaries throughout the day."

"At the Science Museum you can see a changing range of events, special exhibitions, IMAX 3D cinema, hands on activities and even simulators. Themes vary from to space and flight technology, to the energy gallery for 7-14 year olds, gaming and problem solving and engineering. For little ones up to six, the popular ‘garden’ is a hands on interactive space using water, light and sound."

Its inaugural exhibition is all about addiction, called Hooked, and previous shows in its travelling days have investigated blood, food and orifices. "Originally designed for Buckingham Palace, this was moved to Kew in 1836 by King William IV. The building was formerly known as the Aroid House No. 1 and was used to display species of Araceae, the building was listed Grade II* in 1950.[38] With an abundance of natural light, the building is now used for various exhibitions, weddings, and private events.
