"Borough Market is my second personal favourite, since it used to be right next to my office and I used to go there quite often for lunch. I still pay it a visit every now and then even after quitting my corporate job. Borough Market is also a regular market where you can do your grocery shopping, since there are lots of stalls that sell fresh vegetables, fish or meat."

"Restaurants Contemporary Global Spitalfields. The best way to describe The Kitchens in Spitalfields is as a street food market and restaurant hybrid. Launched by Nuno Mendes (of Chiltern Firehouse fame), it features up to ten rotating kiosks ranging from Flank (nose-to-tail British cooking) to Thousand Knives (Japanese small plates) and Yum Bun (steamed buns) – although we’re sold on the Insta-famous crispy shengjianbao (Shanghai’s pan-fried ‘soup dumplings’) from Dumpling Shack."

"Last but not least, no piece about lunch in Reading would be complete without mentioning Reading’s weekly street food market every Wednesday in Market Place (not to be confused with the hugely indifferent Chow, which trades on Fridays). There is a plethora of terrific options, but my personal favourites are Peru Sabor with their gorgeous, tender ox heart anticuchos and Georgian Feast, whose spiced chicken thigh wrap might be the single best sandwich in the whole of Reading and a ridiculous snip at a fiver.
