30 Best Restaurants in London
"Trullo’s elegant dining room and simple, seasonal food, marks it out both as one London’s best Italian restaurants and one of the city’s finest neighbourhood restaurants. Dark wood, low lighting, white table cloths, and just-put-it-on-the-plate plating characterise it as decidedly anti-Instagram. Trullo’s spiritual parents are the two most important restaurants of a generation: the River Cafe and St. John, so dishes marry Italian traditions with British (and Italian) ingredients — fashioned into delicious antipasti, fresh pastas and secondi, dishes which often do a little time on the charcoal grill."
"If you don't know the Islington food scene yet it's time you do, and Trullo is probably our favourite one out there. Combining the high Italian dining with homely flavours and a just-as-much of a homely environment, Trullo has discovered the recipe for comfort eating. Why is it the perfect romantic restaurant?. Small tables and booths at the downstairs bar so you can get comfy and close."
"This Islington neighbourhood restaurant has a reputation that reaches far beyond its borough. Owners Jordan Frieda and Tim Siadatan met while working at the River Café and the Italian menu keenly reflects those roots. Trullo is best described as a contemporary trattoria, with small, white-clothed tables, industrial-style hanging lamps and white walls."
"London may not seem like one of those cities that are synonymous with great pizza, but Homeslice seeks to change that. Serving up a selection of hearty pies (or slices!), Homeslice also offers vegan opions. The Covent Garden (Neal's Yard) location in particular is close to great shopping, so after a day of retail therapy, stop in for a delicious slice."
"Proving pizza can be just as delicious without the cheese is Homeslice, one of London’s best pizza joints. Plant-based options include a mushroom number with chilli flakes and a soy truffle glaze, plus the ‘Ndontja, topped with tenderstem broccoli, vegan mozzarella and vegan ‘Nduja. Whether you’re in the mood for pasta, pizza, tasty starters or their decadent desserts, Zizzi has something for every palate. Even better, they cater to every dietary need and allergy so that everyone can enjoy a delicious meal together in the great outdoors."
"Visit Zizzi Wembley, an Italian restaurant located just 5 minutes from the famous Wembley Stadium. We are less than 5 minutes from Wembley tube station, rig ..."
"In a nutshell: All day Italian with a destination bar Where is it?. 9 Seymour Street, London W1H 5BT Why should you care?. This new Covent Garden Italian sees top chef Paul Robinson inspired by Northern Italy, from the nduja pizzas for breakfast through to hand rolled pasta for dinner."
"You will notice the quirky décor with its exposed brickwork as soon as you set foot in La Vita é Bella, another popular Italian spot in Islington. There’s a wide-ranging menu here featuring wood-fired pizzas and a variety of pasta dishes. Located on Theberton St, La Vita é Bella is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Upper Street."
"Headed up by chef Louis Korovilas, who previously worked at Locanda Locatelli, Bancone in Covent Garden takes its inspiration from many of the 21 regions of Italy."
"Paolo Cometa’s Italian Restaurant on Finchley Road is a truly authentic, back street Italian Restaurant experience but instead its offered right off the busy road that is Finchley Road in London!. Paolo Cometa is from Palermo in Sicily, he offers his fullest hospitality to guests to the restaurant and along with this handmade pasta and many other reasonably priced dishes he also offers wine from his own vineyard!. ": Row upon row of glass jars, with everything from tiny organisms, to strange two-headed beasts, to examples of gross diseases, this museum can be very creepy at times, especially when it’s quiet. However, it’s so much more than the freakshow that it is sometimes made out to be, offering a unique insight into the history of surgery and advances in modern medicine. The next few months are your last chance to see the museum before it closes in 2017 for refurbishment, so get going!"
"Housed in an 1802 warehouse, this educational museum combines artefacts and multimedia displays to chart the history of the city through its river and docks. The best strategy is to begin on the 3rd floor and work your way down through the ages. Perhaps the most illuminating and certainly the most disturbing gallery is London, Sugar and Slavery, which examines the capital’s role in the transatlantic slave trade."
"From the line of massive steel tanks behind Howling Hops’ Hackney Wick bar, beers (both the brewery’s core and seasonal) are served unpasteurised straight from tank to tankard without touching a keg, can, or bottle on the way. Clearly, visitors don’t hold back — in the late evenings, the taproom erupts into a disco of sorts, with limb-throwing patrons all too willing to get involved. Until nightclubs start serving their own lemon goses and US-hopped pale ales, this is the next best thing."
"Howling Hops opened Hackney’s first brewpub, The Cock Tavern on Mare Street, back in 2011. And that’s a claim to fame if we ever heard one (the pub also went on to win an award for its pickled eggs). Their motto is ‘brew interesting beer’, and this is exactly what they do, with unfiltered, unpasteurised, vegan brews."
"Another Hackney Wick hideaway, this unique brewery serves its homemade beers straight from the tap, making it a literal taproom!. With ten beers on sale, you can also find a range of freshly made snacks, meats and coffees made in-house before your very eyes."
"TottenhamKeep an eye on the weather forecast: Beavertown is best when the weather’s good. There are 30 tables outside, each seating at least six, so there’s already space for 180 drinkers, hopefully more if restrictions ease from Monday 12 April. Adding to the party vibe is a weekly changing rotation of food traders, plus house brews from Beavertown’s 10 outdoor draft lines, including classics such as Neck Oil Session IPA. Fancy a change?"
"Unit 17, Lockwood Industrial Park, Mill Mead Rd, London N17 9QP, UK. Beavertown and craft beer are pretty much synonymous – so much so that Beavertown is practically a household name. And with beers that are as distinctive as their branding, it’s no surprise they’re often the beer aficionado’s go-to."
"In a nutshell: The Hoxton Holborn gets an overhaul Where is it?. 199-206 High Holborn, Holborn, London WC1V 7BD Why should you care?. Rondo is the new restaurant at the Hoxton Holborn, a collaboration between Will Lander (Quality Chip House, Portland) and Chris Gillard (EartH Kitchen, St John)."
"Serving irresistible Italian cuisine in casual, friendly surroundings, Prezzo Wembley uses only the finest seasonal ingredients to create their award-winning pizzas, as well as other dishes prepared with produce sourced directly from Italy, all at…"
"The restaurant that launched a thousand dinner parties, Moro was the first and last word in bringing the heady world of rich Spanish and Moroccan food to Blighty. Married couple Sam and Sam Clark opened up their Exmouth Market restaurant back in 1997, which promptly won Time Out's best new restaurant, and still remains a super-popular dining choice for Londoners – and visiting out-of-towners – more than two decades later. Like Ottolenghi, there'll always be one ingredient you'll need to ask the patient waiting staff to explain, but the new discovery will no doubt be delicious."
"Moro takes its inspiration from the exotic and vibrant dishes of southern Spain and North Africa. It was one of London’s first kitchens to cook over fire, and to produce home-made sourdough cooked in the wood-burning oven. Husband-and-wife team Sam and Samantha Clark have introduced London to the flavours of rose water, cardamom, fragrant herbs and pistachio sauces at their Clerkenwell restaurant for over 20 years and it still remains as good as when it opened."
"Roast pork belly with quince alioli; scallops with fino sherry butter; and pumpkin manti with chilli butter and crispy sage adorn the menu at Sam and Sam Clark’s Clerkenwell paean to Moorish cooking. With heaters outside, a scoop of the Malaga raisin ice cream with Pedro Ximenez drizzled atop should be obligatory."
